We agree that my timing for this blog post is not ideal because we are arriving at the end of beautiful fall colours but nevertheless. I think that it could still be useful for the few days that remain but especially for next year. So let’s dive into it: where to see the fall colours in Toronto without a car?

Toronto Islands
I’ve told you about it many times, it’s my favorite place in Toronto but it’s true that we often think about it for the summer and less to enjoy the beautiful fall colours. You can walk around Ward Island or Centre Island to enjoy the change of season. And if you want to know more you can read this article to know everything before going to the Toronto Islands.

Evergreen Brick Works
Another address accessible without necessarily needing a car: Evergreen Brick Works. It’s a former quarry that after 100 years of activity has been transformed into a park with a small pond. The quarry produced bricks (hence the name of course) which were used for the construction of many famous buildings in Toronto like Casa Loma or Osgoode Hall. You have a market on Saturday morning and other activities all year long. The route is quite nice, you will be able to have a high view on the city. You can get there from Yonge and Bloor station through the Rosedale neighborhood and Beaumont Park (click on the link to see the location, it’s not very well indicated sometimes).

High Park
A must-see in Toronto: the huge High Park in the west of the city. It is beautiful in all seasons but the fall makes it even more beautiful. Take the opportunity to walk in the neighborhoods around, the houses are beautiful and I saw beautiful gold trees!

Cherry Beach
A little less accessible, you can go there by foot, by bike or by bus: Cherry Beach is a very popular destination in summer for its beach, its access to the lake and all the greenery around. It’s really a change of scenery just a few kilometres from the city center. In the fall you can enjoy the beautiful colours while walking on the beach and enjoying the view on the water. So close to the city center it is really an opportunity to change environment without having to rent a car.

Glen Stewart Ravine
I’ve never visited this place but I stumbled upon it and thought I’d add it to our little list! It’s still more of a stroll than a hike because the route isn’t very long, but it’s a good option to get some fresh air while feeling like you’ve traveled miles when you’re just outside the city.
