FIFA Fan Festival @ Fort York/The Bentway

This is the official World Cup fan zone, just steps from BMO Field, temporarily renamed Toronto Stadium for the tournament. I won’t spend too much time on this one since I’ve put together a full article covering everything you need to know about the official fan zone right here.

  • 📍 250 Fort York Blvd
  • 📅 June 11 to July 19, 22 days
  • 🎟️ Free (tickets required, often sold out, keep checking the site) + paid premium options ($120–$360)

Adidas Home of Soccer @ Stackt Market

Head to North America’s largest shipping container market: Stackt Market. It’s always a lively spot, and it’s going to be even more so during the World Cup! Adidas is taking over from June 11 until the end of the tournament with a free pop-up featuring games, player appearances and big screens to watch the matches. If you’re downtown, this looks like a really solid option.

  • 📍 28 Bathurst St
  • 📅 June 11 to July 19, open daily except Mondays, doors open at 11am
  • 🎟️ Free, no sign-up required, first come first served

GE Appliances Canada Soccer House @ Harbourfront

For our next stop, we’re heading to the shores of Lake Ontario at Harbourfront. This is the official Canada Soccer destination, with games, a synthetic soccer pitch and interactive experiences, perfect for all ages.

  • 📍 235 Queens Quay West
  • 📅 June 11 to July 2
  • 🎟️ Tickets required (on their website)

Uptown Yonge Watch Party (June 12)

If you want to watch the Canada vs. Bosnia match on a big screen and you live uptown, you now have the perfect spot. Giant screen, entertainment, music, a neighbourhood event made for cheering on Canada with your neighbours. Meet new people, rediscover your area. Definitely worth keeping in mind if you’re in that part of the city.

  • 📍 20 Castlefield Ave (basketball court)
  • 📅 June 12 only, starting at 1:30pm (match at 3pm — Canada vs. Bosnia)
  • 🎟️ Free

Midtown Kickoff (June 11-14)

The World Cup comes to Yonge and St. Clair with a series of activations to celebrate the tournament’s opening days in Toronto. Honestly, the lineup sounds really fun: a photo booth where you can create your own soccer card, a pitch where you can try to score, food and drinks with flavours from around the world. A great programme!

  • 📍 30 Alvin Ave
  • 📅 June 11 to 14
  • 🎟️ Free (tickets available online)

Bloor-Yorkville Soccer Fest

Bloor-Yorkville is always a great neighbourhood to explore, and even more so when there are special World Cup activities happening throughout June. Freestyle soccer demonstrations (I’ll be honest, I’m not entirely sure what that involves, but I’m very curious to find out), skill challenges and more.

  • 📍 Village of Yorkville Park (115 Cumberland St) + Manulife Centre (55 Bloor St W) + The Colonnade (131 Bloor St W)
  • 📅 June 13, 14, 20 and 27
  • 🎟️ Free

SXSE @ Nathan Phillips Square

The South by South East International Festival celebrates Asian and Latin culture every year. This year they’ve added a World Cup twist, bringing sport into the mix. A giant screen, live music and performances, plenty to keep you entertained right in the heart of the city.

  • 📍 City Hall, Nathan Phillips Square
  • 📅 June 17 to 20
  • 🎟️ Free

Soccer Multicultural Latin Fair

A slightly different kind of event: a celebration of Hispanic culture in Canada and especially in Toronto. You’ll be able to watch the matches while celebrating your roots, bring your flags! Like most of the events on this list, there will be food, drinks and music.

  • 📍 Artscape Wychwood Barns (June 20) + Mel Lastman Square, North York (June 21)
  • 📅 June 20–21
  • 🎟️ Free

Cineplex

Prefer watching soccer on a massive screen in air-conditioned comfort? I’ve got you: head to the movies. Cineplex will be screening a selection of matches at their theatres across the city. A unique and fun experience whether you’re going solo or with a group.

  • 📍 Multiple locations in Toronto
  • 📅 29 matches including the semifinals and final
  • 🎟️ $9.99 + taxes

FIFA Museum Visual Timeline @ Billy Bishop Airport

To celebrate the World Cup coming to Toronto, Billy Bishop Airport, right in the heart of the city, is honouring the tournament’s rich history with a series of archival photographs from the FIFA Museum in Zurich. No ticket, no flight needed to see the exhibition. It’s a unique way to appreciate the different eras and teams over the decades. More information here.

  • 📍 Pedestrian tunnel at Billy Bishop Airport (28 Bathurst St)
  • 📅 Until mid-July
  • 🎟️ Free, fully accessible

There’s so much happening in Toronto during the World Cup, events to soak up the atmosphere, feel the energy of the matches and get swept up in the passion of football fans from around the world. Make the most of this historic moment in Toronto. Check out my two other articles: everything you need to know about the free fan zone and the 21 best bars to watch the matches.
